Laughter: The phantom clock

Apollo (the personal car, not the Greek god) has a problem. Just one flaw that he tries to overlook (he's metro you see). He has a short circuit that affects his ability to relay time. His clock worked until sometime between 2008 and 2009 (at which time it broke is an estimate, as the time was no longer working, duh). Since that time his clock has worked approximately 2 times, once in summer of 2011 and once at the beginning of 2012. However, I will have you know that on Sunday, January 27th started working again, at approximately 10:34 am (though the clock said 11:34 because of, you know, hibernating through daylight savings and daylight spendings multiple times). And on Wednesday, January 30th, it stopped working again. However, if I'm being honest then it actually turned off and back on at irregular times during those three days. And let's be serious, all the clock provides me at this point is a little bit of laughter at the beginning (or middle (or end)) of a long day.

Reality Check: The Blender Vaccuum

I am a texture person when it comes to food. If I don't like it there is a 99% chance it is due to an unpleasant-to-me texture. Case and point. (Unless the food is green beans and then they're just plain gross.)

Smoothies are great. What better way to eat all the fruit flavors that I love than to make them completely devoid of texture. Or at least transform them into the most neutral texture possible: liquid.

Enter the blender. Born in the 1920s out of the necessity for prohibition era drink mixers (conjecture not fact) and viralized by the 1940s housewife, the blender (originally blendor) is all but perfect. Our blender, a.k.a. my roommate's blender, even has a spigot, so it is obviously made just for smoothies. Except for the cursed Blender Vortex. You know what I'm talking about. When the blades try to take flight, leaving all those chunks of texture hovering just out of reach. Ugh, I hate texture.
